It can happen time and again that when tightening or loosening screws, the screwdriver slips and comes off the screw head. Sometimes, this can even result in damage to valuable surfaces or even injury to the user. For this reason, the tips of Wera Lasertip screwdrivers undergo a microscopically fine laser treatment that roughens their surface. The basic idea behind the original "Kraftform" handle is that the human hand should define the handle's shape, and this has proven correct to this day. Back in the 1960s, the Wera company—in cooperation with the renowned Fraunhofer Research Institute—developed a screwdriver handle specifically designed for the human hand. After a lengthy development period, the Wera "Kraftform" handle was launched in 1968.
